When I Dream
Yancey, 1979
When I Dream is a classic late season diploid with impressive size and long-lasting rebloom that often displays multiple blooms at once. Stunning red blooms with a HUGE pale yellow eyezone- one of our favorites! It works so hard to pump out blooms that it increases at a slower rate than many, so needs dividing less often.
Wild Cherry Wine
Frank L. Bennett, 2004
This feminine apparition is pretty jaw-dropping! We wanted it for a long time, and were happy to obtain it as it was (and still is) elusive and sought-after. In person it is absolutely gorgeous! The delicate veining really enhances the edge-no-eye package. It's a dormant with early bloom and usually presents us with some rebloom after a pause. Can't get enough of it!
Wilson Spider
Wilson-Oakes, 1987
A very refreshing addition to the border, Wilson Spider always seems to look cool and extra-smashing with her contrasting orange, red and yellow friends! Fertile both ways. Her children can appear darker than expected, so we wonder if she carries a color-intensifier gene.
Winsome Lady
Mrs. William R. (Mabel) Gates, 1964
She's unassuming but really special, and has become a favorite here, despite being around for a while. We love the "fairy bath" trumpet-shaped blooms, especially when they are especially petite. We adore the wiry, widely branched scapes and rebloom. We dig that she has easy pod and pollen fertility.
